As promised a more detailed report of our Mountain biking holiday.
It started this time on my birthday, the 28.2.2009. Departure from Frankfurt-Hahn. Frankfurt ... it's already a joke! Frankfurt is about 80km away. Should actually be better Wiesbaden Frankfurt-Hahn ... but ... ... tztztz.
View from our land of Mount Teide
All right, given 2 h before pastry bags and bikes, but first the wrong switch, since about 20 minutes after our flight was still a flight to Tenerife, also with Ryan-Air! to food, followed quickly by a beer and something in the "concourse". Checking in took a little longer, until such time that we could shorten the queue at the security checkpoint. ;-)
Beer and GinTonic have helped make the air nice and pleasant.
On-time landing at Tenerife South, the only not what was there was the 4th Bike by Piers. This RyanAir has abruptly leave in Frankfurt-Hahn. This has been the 4 CO2 cartridge of an air pump! Here one could have said something! Piers could borrow fortunately the whole week Bionicon Edison and I think he was thrilled ;-).
After a short car ride with the obligatory car, we finally arrived in Puerto de la Cruz and found directions thanks to perfect our Finca "Villa Rosalva.
Because dam headaches ... my birthday party was unfortunately a bit shorter, but we at 1.3. have not made up.

Overview
The next day started with the (super!) breakfast with a brilliant question from Chris: "How long can I eat?" And he has actually eaten for so long until we bike to the station from mtb-active had to go.
Our tour started today, with the support of buses and in almost perfect weather, at the La Esperanza. There it was on the beautiful trails Schierig S2 back to the bike station. Interrupted by three panels:-o. (50km, 1400hm)
After a dinner (set menu) for 8.50 € including a drink, we have my birthday in a tapas bar with Serrano ham and a very well poured Campari Orange rescheduled.
The Monday we were greeted with RAIN! Waaaahhhh! So to kill time with shopping, lunch. We then ventured out in the rain but still a little tour to La Belluono (?) Taken. Was somewhere west of Puerto de la Crux in the banana plantations. (23 km, 310 hm).
In the evening we enjoyed in LaCarta. This restaurant we discovered the day before. Warmly recommended. Very good food at good country-typical and reasonable prices. E.g. Rabbit, steak with goat cheese or lamb shanks. A dream. The landlord had given us even, due to continuous rain, went home! Thank you!
Snow in Tenerife
The next morning, weather improves! So once again meeting at the Bike Station and then take the bus towards Teide. But with 1500hm was over! Reason: Snow! D'oh! Since the bus was not allowed to drive on our tour started so on the bus and took us through the Corona Forestal Nature Park. After a sudden sunshine we had also wiedermal snow and 2 ° C. Ahhh, I had cold feet! Just before the exit to the Bike Station, we were able to warm us a restaurant on an open fire something. To the day then even more perfect, my swing bearing is worn out! (50km, 750hm).
A tip of our landlady took us to dinner to Punta Brava (10 km west of Puerto de la Cruz) into the restaurant "El Rincon". Chris then has stunned the host in which he had conquered the whole fish platter. Ria, Piers and I set forth a good paella.
Tetris bike in the morning
Wednesdays we went behind the sun, brought us our tour of the Anaga Mountains in the northeast of the island. have wonderful landscape again, you have just seen it himself. A beautiful but short trail was a little icing on this tour. (33km, 900hm). In contrast to lunch, where we had nice homemade tortillas, you should eat in Tenerife no pizzas. This was an absolute Canary culinary low point.
Due to various wear on my bike I have now borrowed a Bionicon Edison in the bike station. Thus it was, only by bus, in good weather to start point Arenas Negras is also in the Corona Forestal Nature Park in the west of the island. From there, a nice round of lava and black "sand". In between the odd sight of Mount Teide. A break, we appealed to the "Switzerland". A quaint restaurant with very good Canarian fare. As of today I am even more convinced of Bioniconbikes. (40km, 825hm). In the evening there was a disaster after yesterday's pizza in acute Paella Tropical in Puerto de la Cruz. Normally it must be soon, but we were lucky to receive this without reservation.
To the Teide
On our last day mentioned in second and start a successful attempt of Mount Teide. Was it heaven to about 2400m but 20 ° C and blue. So it went on the 84 km and 1275hm longest tour in the week. Grob said it went to the Mount Teide which ends with a "permanent" trail back down to Puerto de la Cruz. Today was so 3800hm down ;-).
Our final evening meal, we took again in La Carta.
Finally, the journey home. On the way to the airport, we collected more quickly impressions of the Masca Ravine and Los Gigantes. Frankfurt-Hahn then greeted us at 22:20 clock with 3 ° C and snow on the parked car, even remaining in Frankfurt-Hahn by Piers bike was ready for collection.
